  5. Toast the burger buns lightly on the pan or grill until golden brown.
  6. Spread ketchup and mayonnaise (or mustard) on the buns.
  7. Assemble the burger: place lettuce on the bottom bun, followed by the patty, tomato slices, and onions.
  8. Cover with the top bun, press gently, and serve hot with fries or salad.
