Description

Sushi is a traditional Japanese dish known for its delicate balance of flavors and elegant presentation. It typically consists of vinegared rice combined with raw or cooked seafood, vegetables, and sometimes tropical fruits, all rolled in seaweed (nori) or shaped into bite-sized pieces.

Sushi is not only delicious but also considered an art form in Japan. The freshness of the ingredients and the precision in preparation make it both healthy and visually stunning. From simple maki rolls to elaborate nigiri, sushi offers a unique experience for every palate.

Ingredients

Steps

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then cook according to package instructions.
  2. In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Gently fold this mixture into the cooked rice and let it cool.
  3. Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat with the shiny side down.
  4. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice evenly over the nori, leaving a 2 cm border at the top.
  5. Arrange thin slices of fish, cucumber, and avocado across the center of the rice.
  6. Using the bamboo mat, roll the sushi tightly from the bottom up, sealing the edge with a little water.
  7. Slice the roll into even pieces using a sharp, wet knife.
  8. Serve with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and a small amount of wasabi.
